by preserving its heritage
In the second half of the 19th century, Louis, Count de Farcy, owner of La Villedubois between 1850 and 1903, undertook a vast program of work, adapting the layout.
Since then, no major renovation was undertaken.
Today, after more than 150 years, a complete diagnosis of the roofs and frames of the Château was carried out by a heritage architect.
The findings are unequivocal.
All the roofing and frameworks will need to be renovated within the next 15 years. The cost of these repairs is estimated at €1,300,000.
But some buildings will not live that long and need immediate care such as the Pigeon-house, the Chapel and the attached building, as well as the North-West wing of the Château.

The whole framing of the pigeon-house needs to be refurbished.
The roof of the barn needs to be entirely changed in order to prevent leaks that would damage the framework and walls.

The bell tower lost his cross in the 1980’s, and is dangerously leaning, resting on only one of its four pillars.
It therefore needs to be entirely redone as well as the rest of the roof to protect the main framework.

Exposed to the elements, the roof of this part of the house has particularly suffered, endangering certain key pieces of wood.
The entire roof needs to be redone, but only certain pieces of the framework.
